To Whom It May Concern:

We have plenty of internal training to make people better construction professionals. What we didn’t have was a strong way to develop the softer skills that become increasingly important as people advance in their careers. That’s what drew our senior leadership team and me to Eric Anderton’s leadership training, The Shift.

We did the course over Zoom, and even in that format, Eric’s ability as a facilitator stood out. He drew conversations out of people who are typically hesitant to speak up — and these are senior leaders who’ve been in the industry a long time. He created an environment where our team felt genuinely comfortable sharing what was on their minds. That’s not easy to do, especially virtually.

Eric doesn’t just bring good leadership principles — he brings real experience working with construction companies. That matters, because our people can tell immediately when a trainer doesn’t know our industry, and they’ll tune out. Eric earned credibility from day one.

He didn’t just teach theory, either. He connected everything to actual examples people could use in their day-to-day work. And beyond the training sessions themselves, Eric and I worked together strategically to apply what our team was learning to current issues in our organization. That made the impact go far beyond the classroom.

There are a ton of resources out there to teach people how to build a schedule or plan an operation. There’s not nearly enough for leadership development in construction. Eric fills that gap, and I’d recommend him without hesitation.
